Inner Planets
The inner planets are the four rocky planets closest to the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. They're called "inner" because they're inside the asteroid belt!
Mercury is the smallest planet and closest to the Sun - it's super hot during the day but freezing cold at night! Venus is the hottest planet with thick, poisonous clouds.
Earth is our beautiful blue home with water and life everywhere! Mars is the red planet where scientists think there might have been water long ago.

Fun Fact!
Venus is so hot that it could melt lead! It's even hotter than Mercury, even though it's farther from the Sun.
