What Are Black Holes?

What Are Black Holes?

Black holes are the most mysterious objects in space! They are regions where gravity is so incredibly strong that nothing - not even light - can escape once it gets too close.

Imagine a cosmic vacuum cleaner that's so powerful it can suck up anything that comes near it. But black holes don't actually "suck" - they have such strong gravity that space and time bend around them!

Even though we call them "black holes," they're not really holes at all. They're incredibly dense objects packed into a very small space, creating the strongest gravitational pull in the universe.

💡

Fun Fact!

Black holes are so dense that a teaspoon of black hole material would weigh as much as a mountain on Earth!
